Moreland likely to earn playoff spot for Texas

Chris Davis was unable to play Friday because of the flu bug that's been going around the team and it's beginning to look obvious that Mitch Moreland is going to be the Rangers' left-handed-hitting first baseman in the playoffs.

Washington admits Smoak was rushed to Majors

Former Rangers first baseman Justin Smoak is back with the Mariners. Smoak was called up from Triple-A on Saturday after Tacoma wrapped up the Pacific Coast League title on Friday night.

Rangers C Treanor leaves in 7th with knee injury

Texas Rangers catcher Matt Treanor left Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Angels in the seventh inning with a sprained right knee. Treanor was running out a ground ball and tripped over the foot of Angels first baseman Kevin Frandsen.
