Rangers manager Ron Washington said Josh Hamilton will stay in the No. 3 spot in the batting order, even after Ian Kinsler returns from the disabled list. Kinsler was batting third before he went on the DL, but Washington wants to keep Hamilton there for the rest of the season.

Second baseman Ian Kinsler has been cleared to begin a medical rehabilitation assignment with Double-A Frisco on Saturday. Kinsler has been on the disabled list since July 29 with a strained left groin muscle.

Dustin Nippert is scheduled to pitch one inning for Double-A Frisco on Friday night. Nippert has been on the disabled list with a head injury since July 20 after getting hit by a line drive in Detroit.
